How to learn to say "no"?

How to learn to say "no"? 22-01-2019

When we learn to say NO, we build self-confidence, maintain healthy self-esteem, and value responsibility for making our own decisions.

When we say “no” we are defending our rights and feelings; with this action we respect our dignity. However, we must ensure that we do so in a firm but not hurtful manner; that is, in an assertive manner. and how?

  1. Analyze the situation and make sure you have understood it properly.
  2. Express the refusal in a clear, brief and friendly manner.
  3. Apply the sandwich technique: say something positive before and after the negative.

Why is it hard for us to say “no”? What do we do if they insist? These and other answers can be found BY CLICKING HERE where you can hear my full participation in the @12y2 program together with @sergiocarlo and @ karinalarrauri, whom I congratulate and thank for the invitation to speak on such an interesting topic.

Finally, I recommend you read the book by our colleague Walter Riso "question of dignity", you will love it!
